Manzanar is one of the sites where Japanese Americans were unfairly imprisoned during World War II. It's located at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California along Hwy 395 between the towns of Lone Pine and Independence.

I passed this site countless times on my way to and from Mammoth mountain on snowboarding trips. I learned about it in an Asian American class way back in college but I never found the time to actually visit until this one day.
